IMO MODEL COURSE 7.03 – OFFFICER IN CHARGE OF ANAVIGATIONAL WATCH

Summary:
This training course has been designed for deck ratings who have been working at sea and have logged at least 36 months of seagoing service with 6 months engaged in bridge watchkeeping duties, and who are ready to progress from a rating to achieve an Officer of the Watch (II/1) Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) through the experienced seafarer route.

STCW Competencies:

  • Function 1: Navigation at the operational level
  • Function 2: Cargo Handling and Stowage at the operational level
  • Function 3: Controlling the operation of the ship and care for the persons on board at the operational level

Entry Criteria:

· Minimum 36 months sea service in a deck capacity, including six months' bridge watchkeeping duties under the supervision of a qualified officer.

· GCSE O level Certificate or its equivalent

· Valid personal medical fitness certificate issued by any IMO whitelist country.
