This course is designed for marine engineers serving on harbour and terminal tugs, with training structured according to engine power limits (e.g., 750 kW, up to 3,000 kW and above propulsion systems). It focuses on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-power marine diesel engines, propulsion systems (conventional and ASD),auxiliary machinery, firefighting systems, and emergency response onboard tugs. Emphasis is placed on reliability, rapid fault diagnosis, safe machinery handling during manoeuvring operations, and compliance with class and flag requirements.

Entry Criteria:

Marine Engineers holding a valid CoC (minimum OOW Engineering) or equivalent sea service on tugs within the specified engine power range. Alternately, holders of Marine Engineering Degree or Marine Technical Diploma, can also join.

Minimum documented sea service on vessels with propulsion power corresponding to the course category (engine power to be specified as per enrolment band).
