Programs Offered
Bursary and discounts
• Students who are Emiratis from Sharjah Emirate with (Father/guardian monthly income) Ð 50,000 or less, receive 100% bursary
• Students who are Emiratis from Sharjah Emirate with (Father /guardian monthly income) above Ð 50,000, receive 50% bursary
• Students who are Emiratis and from one of the other Emirates of the UAE, receive 30% discount
• Students who are non-Emiratis also receive 30% discount
Payment procedures
• Admission fees: Ð 660 which is non-refundable.
• Advance Payment: Ð 5,000 which is to be deducted later from the fees after registration.
• Security deposit: Ð 1,500 to be paid on registration for one time only. (applicable to self-sponsored students only)
Undergraduate Student Discount Policy
1. High School Achievement Discount
The High School Achievement Discount shall be granted to newly admitted students who have obtained a minimum score of 90%in their high school certificate, provided that all of the following conditions are met:
- Admission must be to a bachelor's degree programme or the Intensive English Language Programme only
- No more than five years shall have elapsed since obtaining the high school certificate.
- The same condition shall apply to transfer students from another higher education institution who transfer without any transferred credits. The discount shall not be granted to transfer students with transferred credits.
Discount Coverage
A 50% discount on the tuition fees of the first academic semester for all colleges.
Exclusions
The High School Achievement Discount shall not apply to students who receive a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.

Scope of Application
1. The discount shall apply to all students enrolled at the university.
2. Students must be registered for a minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours in the semester upon which the GPA is calculated.
Exclusions
The discount shall not apply to students receiving a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.
Administrative Provisions
1. The discount shall be recorded as a credit balance in the student's account and applied towards the tuition fees of the same semester or the following semester, as determined by the university
2. The discount percentages stated above represent the minimum discount levels. The university reserves the right to increase or decrease the percentages or GPA thresholds in accordance with the nature of its academic programmes.
3. The discount shall not entitle the student to any cash refund, except in cases of delayed implementation.
3. Sibling Discount
Discount Coverage
A 10% discount on tuition fees for all bachelor's degree programmes.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The discount shall be granted to only one student per family
2. The discount shall apply to the student with the lower tuition fees or to the student who is not receiving financial sponsorship
3. The discount shall not be granted automatically. An application must be submitted through the university's electronic systems during the same academic semester.
Exclusions
The discount shall not apply to students receiving a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.
4. Discount for specialised programmes :
Bachelor of Marine Engineering Technology (MET)
Bachelor of Maritime Transport (MT)
Discount Coverage
A 50% discount for UAE Nationals and a 30% discount for non-UAE Nationals.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The student must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree programme
2. The discount shall continue provided that the student maintains a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.5.
Exclusions
The discount shall not be granted to students receiving a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.
5. Postgraduate Discounts for New Students
Discount Coverage
A 30% discount on semester tuition fees.
Eligibility Criteria
University Graduates
1. Master's Degree: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4
2. Doctoral Degree: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6.
Graduates of Other Universities
1. Master's Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.8
2. Doctoral Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.8.
Exclusions
1. Certain programmes may be excluded from this discount as determined by the university.
2. The discount shall not apply to students receiving a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.
6. Postgraduate Discounts for Continuing Students
Discount Coverage
A 30% discount on semester tuition fees.
Eligibility Criteria
University Graduates
1.Master's Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.4 at the end of each academic semester.
2. Doctoral Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.6 at the end of each academic semester.
Graduates of Other Universities
1. Master's Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.8 at the end of each academic semester.
2. Doctoral Degree: Minimum semester GPA of 3.8 at the end of each academic semester.

1. Certain programmes may be excluded from this discount as determined by the university.
2. The discount shall not apply to students receiving a scholarship or financial sponsorship covering 50% or more of their tuition fees.
7. General Provisions
- Where a student qualifies for more than one discount, only the highest discount shall apply.
- Sharjah Maritime Academy reserves the right to amend or discontinue any discount whenever required in the interest of the institution, provided that such amendments remain within the limits and general percentages approved by the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
