IMO Model Course 1.25

Summary:
This course facilitates training that meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence and relevant requirements in general operator’s certificate for the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). This is in accordance with the STCW Convention and Code, the Radio Regulations, and the STCW-F Convention and Code, and covers operation of GMDSS equipment for distress and safety communications.

STCW Competencies:

• Transmit and receive information using GMDSS subsystems and equipment and fulfilling the functional     requirements of GMDSS
• Provide radio services in emergencies
