Summary:

This is a practical course, consisting of aseries of exercises structured around the operation of the cargo and ballastsystems of an LPG Tanker and carried out using a liquid cargo handlingsimulator (LCHS). Simulator-based cargo planning, ballast operations andemergency management.

1.     Design andcharacteristics of an LPG tanker

2.     LPG tankersystems and equipment

3.     Pumptheory and characteristics, including types of cargo pumps and their safeoperation

4.     Loading, unloading, care and handling of LPG cargo

5.     Effect ofbulk liquid cargoes

6.     Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of LPG

7.     Proficiency in the use of the IGC Code
