Summary:
Basic firefighting knowledge and practical response to shipboard fire emergencies. This course is mandatory for every prospective seafarer in order to meet minimum standards of competence in safety familiarization, basic training and instruction in fire prevention and fire-fighting.
STCW Competencies:
- Minimise fire risk and Maintain state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire
- Fight and extinguish fires
