Summary

This course provides training for officers and ratings, as a basic training programme appropriate to their duties, including oil and chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations. It is about safe handling of oil and chemical cargoes.

This course prepares personnel responsiblefor safe liquid cargo transfer operations at marine terminals, jetties, and offshore loading facilities. It covers mooring oversight, ship-shore interfaceprocedures, cargo transfer coordination, emergency shutdown systems, communication protocols, and environmental protection measures. Emphasis isplaced on operational safety, regulatory compliance, and effective coordinationbetween terminal, vessel, and emergency response teams.

Entry Criteria:

·        Personnel engaged in marine terminal, jetty, or ship–shore cargo operations, or those being appointed as Jetty Operators or Supervisors.

·        Basic knowledge of tanker operations and marine safety procedures (e.g., relevant STCW tanker training or equivalent operational experience).
