Summary:

This is a practical course, consisting of aseries of exercises structured around the operation of the cargo and ballastsystems of an LNG Tanker and carried out using a liquid cargo handlingsimulator (LCHS). Simulator-based cargo planning, ballast operations andemergency management.

Outcomes:

1.     Design andcharacteristics of an LNG tanker

2.     LNG tankersystems and equipment

3.     Pumptheory and characteristics, including types of cargo pumps and their safeoperation

4.     Loading, unloading, care and handling of LNG cargo

5.     Effect ofbulk liquid cargoes

6.     Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of LNG

7.     Proficiency in the use of the IGC Code
